It's such a cliché that many people believe astrology is worthless solely because of that fact.
It isn't.
Do you read your horoscope in the daily paper? Do you wonder why it doesn't usually fit?
Simple -- millions of people share your sun sign. Millions of people cannot possibly have the same exact some occurrences happen on the exact same day.
Real astrology involves much more than sun signs. [As an aside, that is not a dig at Rob Breszny's "Real Astrology" column. Actually, for a sun-sign column, it is not only amusing, intelligent and insightful, but often amazingly on target. I always enjoy reading it.] However, since astrology in its fullest sense is so much more complex than sun-signs, there is only so much that Sun signs alone can tell us.
That being said, I must also say that your Sun-sign is the singular most critical factor in your chart. Your Sun-sign is, literally, where you become the Sun, where you shine in your own life. It is also reflective of your soul's purpose on this planet. There are many, many other factors to consider, but your Sun-Sign is a good place to start in understanding who you are, why you are here, and what you are supposed to do.
B Taurus. Taureans crave comfort and security. They are an earth sign, and tend to be practical, especially about money. They may be attracted to gardening and banking. They can be stubborn, but appreciate beauty and the arts. Their ruling planet is Venus.
C Gemini. Geminis are generally bright and inquisitive by nature. They are easily bored, and love collecting information about anything and everything. They are great talkers, but can sometimes overdo it. Mercury is the ruling planet of Gemini.
D Cancer. Cancerians are ruled by the Moon, and their famous moodiness reflects the frequent changes of the Moon. Cancerians are usually compassionate and nurturing souls, but they can also be tenacious, clingy and insecure. Home is very important to them.
E Leo. Leos are ruled by the Sun itself, and are the stars of the zodiac. They like to shine and be the center of attention, which can lead to arrogance. Leos are big romantics, and love to do things in a big way. If their innate arrogance doesn't get in the way, they have big hearts, too.
F Virgo. Virgos are, like Geminis, ruled by Mercury, but they express themselves very differently as they are an earth sign, not an air sign. Virgos are very discriminating, which leads to their rather unfair reputation as being picky and hypercritical. They tend to be perfectionists, but have a need to serve humanity in some way.
G Libra. Libra is the sign of relationship. It is ruled by the planet Venus. Librans' symbol, the Scales (Balance), represent their difficulty in making decisions. Librans are born negotiators, as they usually speak well and can understand all sides of a question. Librans also usually appreciate art and music.
H Scorpio. Scorpios are ruled by Pluto, and secondarily by their ancient ruler, Mars. Scorpios are deep and feeling, although they are often uncomfortable openly expressing their emotions. They usually have an innate understanding of human motivations, and sexuality is very important to Scorpios on an emotional level.
I Sagittarius. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, and that planet's expansive nature explains a lot about Sagittarians. Sagittarians like open spaces, frequently like sports, and have been known to bluntly speak before thinking on occasion. They can be philosophical and restless, like all fire signs.
J Capricorn. The mountain goat is Capricorn's symbol, and Capricorns often do much better later in life after slowly building their own personal mountains to a peak. They are very practical and down-to-earth, but oddly have a wicked sense of humor. Capricorns are usually serious, and often successful in business. Saturn is their ruling planet.
K Aquarius. Aquarians are unique individuals. They usually have a concern about humanity at large, and are often better relating in groups than one-on-one. They can be inventive, quick-witted, and even brilliant. Aquarians are ruled by the planet Uranus, and like the planet, they can be eccentric.
L Pisces.
Pisceans are the sweethearts and doormats of the zodiac.
They are deeply feeling people as a rule, with the capability for great
depths of compassion. Neptune is their ruling planet. They
can be spacy and find it difficult to be grounded in this reality.
They tend to be quite spiritual people.
